Okay, so first of all I have to apologize for jumping ALL OVER THE PLACE with my wedding posts! A sneak peek here and a sneak peek there, here a peek, there a peek everywhere a peek peek (sung to the tune of Old MacDonald) Ha! I've been a little A.D.D. with my posts.
BUT, seriously... you've gotta check out the "awesomeness" of this green, mossy background for the ring shots taken at Matt and DaShell's wedding. I had just finished up the "rings in the bouquet" shot when I noticed a mossy ledge tucked underneath a tree. WOW! It was so vividly green and soft, Raquel and I jumped with excitement! Ah yes, we photographers can be quite nerdy over the littlest of things. But can you blame us? Look at that color! Not everyone has moss as a backdrop for their wedding rings! Pretty stinkin' cool!

IT'S ALL IN PERSPECTIVE. {UTAH WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER}
A few tips for anyone who wants to get some unique shots of a bride and her dress...
CHANGE YOUR ANGLE. We tend to look at everything from our normal vantage point. To mix things up a little, just simply get down low or stand on something to make you higher than your subject. In the photos below, I am looking down at the bride in the "eyelash" shot, as I like to call it:) It makes for a very flattering close up. And to get a different angle of a wedding dress, get down on the ground and shoot up! It is especially interesting when the dress has a "focal point" such as the flower on this dress.

EMILY AND JASON. MARRIED. {UTAH WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER}
Snippets from my cousin's wedding...
Since this was a close relative, I decided to be the second photographer so that I could still be a GUEST, attend to my children who constantly wanted their mama, and enjoy a little bit of shooting (I think I would have gone crazy if I didn't shoot anything at the wedding!). I had the best of both worlds.
The lovely Kate Benson was the primary shooter. I love this woman! She is as good as gold. Her work is amazing and her personality is just as AWESOME! She knows how much I idolize her:)
Em and Jason! I'm so happy for you two! Thanks for working with me. xoxoxo
Okay, first of all.... this is seriously the coolest place to have a wedding. Park City Mountain Resort. For all of you "brides-to-be", be sure to check this place out. You get to ride a ski lift up to the ceremony spot, the scenery is AMAZING, and then you get to ride the alpine slide down (wedding dress and all!).
This is the second wedding I have shot at the resort and I seriously think it is so fun for a bride and groom with charismatic personalites!
Em waiting at the top of the hill with her niece and her dad attending to his duties of holding the dress out of the dirt:)

BEAUTIFUL BRIDE AND GROOM. {HEBER VALLEY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER}
Well Happy Monday everyone! What do you think of this fall weather that we are FINALLY having?
So, speaking of weather, I am just about done editing this wedding and I am sooo excited about their pictures. On the day of their wedding, it down-poured right after their ceremony. I'm not joking... It was a CRAZY storm that blew through just after their OUTDOOR ceremony. We had to stay under umbrellas and large trees for a good 20 minutes to wait the storm out before we could get back to the main building because it was raining so hard! Thank goodness we remembered our umbrellas last minute! The rain continued off and on the rest of the evening:( So, we had to shoot their bride and groom mini session really quickly. Now, looking at the images we captured in that short time.... I am so excited with what we got. In fact, I shouldn't be blogging now, I should be finishing up, but I just wanted to share a sneak peek to the lovely couple!

MY BOYS ARE....
A) extremely patient with me because I made them do this photo shoot last minute (another one canceled and I was still all geared up for shooting). I gave them the quickest bath in the world, threw on something cute... and that's a huge sacrifice for "spiderman" Andrew who LIVES in his costume. AND I made them shoot BEFORE they had dinner... bad choice mom! Hey, the light was fading!!!
B) The silliest boys in front of a camera... it takes a LOT of shooting to get some good ones:)
C) The CUTEST boys in the WORLD... Okay, maybe I'm a little bias:)
